Dr. Steve Horwitz, chiropractor, is a graduate of Cornell University and the National University of Health Sciences. Since 1986 Dr. Horwitz has treated thousands of patients for sports injuries, provided coverage at 100’s of athletic events, and trained youth, college, professional, and Olympic athletes. In 1994, Dr. Horwitz was invited to participate in the United States Olympic Committee volunteer sports medicine program and was selected by the USOC to be the sole chiropractor on the US Olympic Team medical staff for the 1996 US Olympic Team. He was one of the first chiropractors to earn both the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certifications. Dr. H is also an American Heart Association BLS Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, and nationally recognized continuing education provider. An avid athlete, Dr. Horwitz is a bodybuilding champion, Texas State Master’s Powerlifting Record Holder, and two-time champion of the Tactical Strength Challenge Men’s Master’s Division. The Texas UIL requires that students have a sports physical before they can play school sports. But most non-school youth sports organizations do not require it. This makes no sense to us, so we strongly recommend that for any sports activity your child gets a proper preparticipation physical exam to ensure that your child is healthy enough to play his or her sport. Dr. Horwitz, chiropractor, is certified as an instructor by both the American Heart Association (AHA) and Health and Safety Institute (HSI). He teaches AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care professions, CPR/AED (Fitness Trainers, Sports Coaches, Babysitters, Parents), CPR/AED First Aid (Foster/Adoptive Parents, Childcare workers, Construction and General Industry OSHA First Aid Standard 29 CFR 1910.151), and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP).
